About Us

Our Story

Summit Sports was founded by Dustin Fostvelt, a former elite hockey player who has dedicated his career to guiding the next generation of athletes. After playing junior hockey with the Spruce Grove Saints (AJHL/BCHL), earning NCAA Division 1 scholarship to RIT, and being offered a professional contract in Slovakia, Dustin chose the path of mentorship and advising. Over the past decade, Dustin has coached at elite levels (U15AAA & U18AAA) and worked in advising/player representation, building deep connections in the hockey world.

Now, with Summit Sports, Dustin brings his passion for player-first support. Every advisor, coach, and representative on our team is a former player, meaning we know firsthand what athletes need to succeed—because we’ve been there.

Summit Sports Advisor/Agent

Nathan Hudema

Nathan is a former elite player himself who played his minor hockey with the AAA programs at KC growing up in Edmonton. Nate was drafted in the 4th round of the 2007 WHL draft by the Prince Albert Raiders. Choosing the Junior A path, Nathan ended up playing for both the St. Albert Steel (AJHL), and then for the Humboldt Broncos in the SJHL where he won an SJHL Championship in 2011-2012 and continued on to the RBC Cup. Nate brings a wealth of experience, hockey knowledge and overall passion for the game. He is an invaluable member of our team and we look forward to having him continue to assist our elite players.

Summit Sports Advisor/Agent

Robb Sernecky

Robb brings extensive knowledge to the Summit Sports team. Robb is a former elite hockey player who played his AAA minor hockey in the Leduc and Fort Sask systems. Having stints with both the Grand Prairie Storm and Trail Smoke Eaters in Junior, Robb went on to play some professional hockey which included a stint in Europe. His vast playing background gives him the advantage in helping navigate the waters for our current players and helping them find the best fit that’s perfect for them. He has now been in the advising and player representation field for the last 7+ years. And has also been a scout with the Weyburn Red Wings of the SJHL for over 2 years. Robb’s experience is invaluable and we are both proud and excited to have him as a part of our team!
